Introduction

Department of Bengali began to function on the first day of the college (October 1947). Since its inception, the Department of Bengali of Charuchandra College has offered the UG courses, both Honours and General within university norms. The Postgraduate course of the Department of Bengali has been started in 2014 approved by the University of Calcutta. Department presently has Four full-time CSC-appointed faculty members. The department organized National Level Seminar, Educational tours & various cultural events. The students of this department participated in Inter-college Cultural Competition and achieved prizes. The ex-students of this department are attached to many teaching institutions, school, college & university levels.
