Teaching Methods Adopted

Teaching Methods:

The Department has been following the traditional teaching Methods of giving lecturers,  doing board work,  and inviting interactive sessions from the students .However since the onset of the pandemic in March2020,and the subsequent suspension of off line classes, the Department has been regularly conducting online classes, and taking examinations.

Activities:

According to the syllabus, visits to the museums and other historical places are mandatory. One excursion to the Indian Museum, Kolkata took place in November 2019.Unfortunately, further excursions have been suspended due to the lockdown situation. But we are hopeful of organizing more excursions, once the situation improves.

Future plans:

A large number of students take up the History General Course. Many enquire about the possibility of pursuing Honours Programme here. We hope that we can introduce Honours Courses in the near future.
